A Aachen Back Chiropractic
If you have ever had the misfortune of a back injury or severe back pain then you know it is the most debilitating experience (physically and mentally). The limitations that one endures can completely change their quality of life. I was diagnosed with a degenerative disc in my spine and the MRI revealed a bulge in the disc. I was experiencing excruciating pain in my lower back, right side and down my leg. I had tried treatment with my personal physician and orthopedic surgeons without success They were merely trying to stop the pain without curing the problem. My fortune changed when I saw an ad online which basically said back pain can be cured through a new and innovative procedure that is non surgical, non evasive and painless treatment. Needless to say this was very appealing to me. I called the number in the ad and spoke with Dr. Bob Waterstone. He explained the new IDD treatment to me and I decided to try the therapy. it was the best decision I could have made with regard to my condition. Dr. Waterstone and his staff were very professional and easy to talk to during my initial visit to his office. The treatment itself is done in a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. Most importantly, after a few short visits I began to notice a tremendous decrease in my level of pain. I was soon able to discontinue all pain medications I am half way through my recommended treatment sessions and I now experience little pain. My sciatica pain has diminished and improves after each treatment. If you are experiencing back or sciatic pain I would highly recommend the IDD (internal disc decompression) therapy. It has done wonders for my back pain and sciatica condition. I would like to say thank you to Dr. Bob and his excellent staff (Janet, Dr. Joe, Tiffani and Carol).
Most appreciative, Dexter Harper
RADICAL RELIEF OF SCIATIC PAIN AFTER
ONE TREATMENT OF IDD THERAPY!
I am a 'second generation' testimonial to the success of IDDD Therapy. My daughter found Dr. Bob last year after a car accident. Her pain relief was amazingly swift and, at her suggestion, I recently contacted Dr. Waterstone regarding my intense back and leg pain. To my surprise, I was afforded the opportunity to meet with him the very next day. In less than a week, the IDD treatments for my sciatic pain has surpassed anything I would have ever expected!
With no offense to Dr.. Bob and Dave, I quite frankly don't like going to a doctor —any doctor. My family and fiends all know that if/when. I make a doctor's appointment, the need is most certainly extreme. After only three sessions of IDD Therapy, I now fiind myself actually looking forward to my next treatment. What IDD Therapy has done for me is remarkable -- almost unbelievable!
I came to Dr. Bob with severe sciatic pain after having undergone several unscucessful weeks of tri¬weekly chiropractic visits. Immediately prior to my first IDD treatment I had spent the previous 87 hours in bed, unable to do much more than hobble to the bathroom. Dutring my initial consultation with Dr. Bob, I truthfully don't remember my response when he asked, "What is your pain level now?" I'm certain I lied to him if my answer was anything less than 10+. The pain was excruciating and made my memory of childbirth seem like a picnic in the park.
I initially thought my sciatic pain was the result of a recent injury. Now, however, as I think back I realize I have unknowingly had lower back problems for years
I remember going to Tuscaloosa in 2000 to see my daughter perform at half time at an Alabama football game. It was about 1/2 mile from our parking place to the stadium. I could only walk 1-2 blocks before having to sit down on the curb) due to the severe pain in my back For several years following, I did some display work for a special events company that involved a lot of carrying, lifting and bending. I would dread the days when setting up for a big event, not to mention cutting my productivity by at least 25% because of the time I spent having to "just sit down for a minute." I also look bacl on the years of painful Christmas shopping -- the hours of walking and standing in long lines at the cash register. Too numerous to mention were the times when the pain in my lower back would force me to sit down on the floor right in the middle of a department store. Oh, how the store employees would come running!"Are you OK?!?" "Did you fall ?!?" "Should I call 911?!?" N000000, it's just that my back is killing me and I need to give it a rest." I had no clue.
Continued IDD Therapy will hopefully change all that. After my FIRST IDD treatment, my pain level decreased from a +10 to a -2. in less than 5 hours after my very first session I was able to walk, get in and out of a car, remove my shoes and socks, stand for more than five minutes, climb stairs and (almost) sleep through the night. Is it remarkable? Is it unbelievable? Do I recommend IDD therapy?
YES!
IDD Therapy, coupled with Dr. Bob and his extraordinary staff of Dr. Dave, Janet, Nick, Ellen and Carol, has given me a miraculous jump-start at age 55. Most importantly, I feel like I now have the almost pain-free mobility needed to embrace and enjoy the newest love of my life, my granddaughter.
THANK YOU!! Brenda

Dear Dr. Waterstone
My name is Bashti Seecharan. I am a 29 year old mom of 2 kids and a housewife and also a student. I am writing this letter to you to say thanks to you and your staff at A Aachen Back for helping me get back to my daily routine without the pain in my left leg.
It all started when I slip and fell hitting my lower back in August of 2007. I did not feel any pain at the time, but in Nov, I felt some pain. I had a MrI and did physical therapy and the pain went away. But it cam back on Sunday October 26 2008. I was awakened by a a shooting pain going down my left leg. The pain started from my hips all the way down the back of my leg to my toes. I couldn't lay down or sit or stand up with this pain and I cried a lot. I went to my doctor and they said it is called Sciatica. This is because of the pinched nerv in my back. They referred me to a pain clinic to get a steroid shot in my spine. The pain clinic was the 2nd opinion. Surgery was the last. I am afaid if I do surgery that I may not be able to walk and take care of my kids as I am used to.
Then one day my husband saw the informercial for the IDD Therapy and I called to my my 1st appointment to become pain free with no medicine and surgery. Now I am a 3 out of 10 on the scale of pain. where I started. It took me about 12 IDD therapy treatments to ease up.
It was difficult with this level of pain. Now my family is happy to have me back pain free and doing my daily jobs around the house. Also I could enjoy the Christmas season.
Again THANK YOU DR. WATERSTONE and STAFF and IDD THERAPY.
Yours truly

Hi Doctor Bob,
I just had to thank you for having the IDD Therapy available. It has been the most wonderful thing for me and has had some unusual aspects. When I came to you several months ago, I was suffering from an injury and from Fibromyalgia. The back is 1000% improved with treatments but unexpectedly my Fibromyalgia, that I have had 20 years is also much better. I have taken no pains meds in weeks and so far the legs are stronger and NO PAIN. THANK YOU and Dr. David for all you have accomplished. Kathy Tolbert

I will be the first to admit that I thought IDD Therapy wouldn't work. After all, I had been suffering with back pain, sciatica, torn and bulging discs for over ten years. I had tried physical therapy, special braces, hydrotherapy, chiropractic, painkillers, cortisone injections, holistic treatments, massage therapy, acupuncture, epidurals, and was already scheduled for invasive surgery when I found Dr. Bob. After hearing all the information on the treatment, I was hopeful but skeptical. If this was so good, why wasn't it offered everywhere? Being 28 years old and the mother of a 15-month old, I was willing to try ANYTHING to keep me from having surgery.
When I first walked into A Aachen Back was when I knew this practice was different from any other. The comfortable, inviting location was a far cry from the sterile and cold office environment that I had seen so many times before. I was greeted warmly by Dr. Bob and his staff, and was given all the information and education about the IDD process. When Dr. Bob told me that I was an ideal candidate for IDD therapy, my skepticism returned. It wasn't until after my first treatment that I finally realized that all the hype was well-warranted. The treatment itself was incredibly soothing and comfortable, unlike the painful injections and strenuous therapies I'd tried in the past. Also unlike my previous attempts at treatment and pain relief, the results were evident within a half-hour after the therapy!! I was able to go home and pick my daughter up WITHOUT PAIN for the first time since she was born. I didn't have to lie around in agony waiting for the therapy to work...it was im
mediate!!
I have had only three treatments with Dr. Bob, but the results have been so spectacular, I have already canceled my surgery. The IDD therapy itself is remarkable, but the care I received from Dr. Bob and his staff is second to none. I walk in and am greeted by name by Carol, Ellen, Nick, and Janet. They talk to me like I'm a person rather than a patient. Dr. Bob isn't your typical "demeaning" doctor. He is genuine, open, and can relate to the pain of his patients, because he's been in their shoes.
I can't recommend this procedure enough. I know that I had read the testimonials before I started the therapy, and I was still nervous. The best advice I can give you is to try it for yourself, so that you can add your story to the list. This treatment has given me my life back, and I pray you have the opportunity to let it change your life, too.

My name is Ruby Beckham, and I came to America six years ago. I have been having back pain off and on for many years.
I am 84 years old and thought it was just normal at my age to have lower back pain.
The last eight months I noticed while bowling in my senior league that I was having some back pain. The pain had been getting a lot worse in the last several weeks.
I had tried epidural blocks three years ago and they helped for a while, but the pain began to creep back in.
I found on the internet this IDD therapy that Dr.Bob Waterstone does from his Kennesaw, Ga. Office, and I decided to go and see Dr. Bob and he told me that I was a good candidate for the IDD.
When I first came in the office, I could not straighten up and walked bent over. Now after six IDD treatments I am feeling so much better and I can almost straighten completely up.!
Thank you Dr. Bob for giving me my life back. I will recommend this new therapy to anyone that has constant back pain.

Dear Dr. Bob
First of all, I want to thank you for taking more time to examine me and talk and listen to me then all my other Dr.'s combined. When I came to you for a consultation and treatment, I was looking for one last solution to my back problems. I hurt my back in February and after an MRI, I was told that I have at least 2 herniated discs and 2 other discs that are bulging or on the edge of becoming herniated. I am a big guy. I was about 265 lbs before the accident with a very physically demanding job. Since I got injured, I have to be put on light or restricted duty and have seen my weight go up to about 300lbs. I have been on light or restricted duty ever since the accident and have been in pain, sometimes extreme pain, ever since.
I have had physical therapy, 3 epidural shots of sterioids in my back and worked with a chiropractor for adjustments. The physical therapy didn't work. The epidurals gave me a little relief for about 1-2 weeks. Nothing really helped until I went to the chiropractor. I started noticing a little difference every time and that's when I started searching the web for IDD Treatment. I found your website and I knew that's what I needed. The website explained a lot and every time I read something about IDD and how it treats back pain, I got my hopes up again for something that could give me lasting relief and correct my problem. I hav had 9 treatments and I can honestly say that my quality of life has improved! The edge has been taken off. I am on fewer medications for pain. My mental outlook is better because I am not in contant pain anymore. I don't wake up in the middle of the night with pain anymore. Over all, the IDD has helped me and God willing, will continue to get me healthy soon. I am looking forward to the rest of the treatment because I believe that afterwards I will be pain free and will be able to go back to my physically demanding job and life.
Many Thanks!

To Dr. Waterstone and the Gang.
I was in a car wreck 4 years ago. I was sitting at a stop light when a car behind me decided not to stop. He hit me doing about 55 mph. I was knocked across Hwy 41 over a 150 yards (my trunk now is in the back seat.) This wreck cost me my job. I could no longer sit at a computer 9 hours a day.
Since that time I have been to 2 chiropractors, a pain clinic, where they did 2 series of 3 epidural shots each and finally a surgeon. I refused surgery (only a 30% chance of improvement and 70% chance of it getting worse.) The shots nor the chiropractic worked very well. I had pretty much given up hope of ever being off pain killers and being without pain again. I couldn’t stand or sit more than 15-20 minutes in any one position and my left leg would suddenly go numb on me and would collapse. I took pain killers every 3-4 hours and slept very little. Emotionally I was sinking into a very black hole with no way out.
When I came to see Dr. Waterstone I could hardly stand up long enough to have x-rays done. But everyone was very patient and kind and we got through them. I started treatments that day and over the next two weeks had the other 9. After the first 2 treatements I had cut back on the pain medicine and was sleeping longer at night. By the time we finished I was on no pain killers and getting 5-6 hours of sleep at night.
I now take very little pain medication (usually because I over do something.) I can get in and out of my car without pain, pick up my 3 year old grandson, go shopping, bring in groceries out of the car and was my car if I want to. Things I couldn’t do without a lot of pain before. I have just started an exercise/weight loss program. (I had gained 80 lbs. In the last 4 yers.) With the regular maintenance I know I can hold onto my improvements. For the first time I feel in control of my life again. (By the way I bend over and can touch the floor with my hands now.)
The treatments have given me back my life and I can’t thank you all enough. Please have any patients that are hesitant or skeptical to call me. I will gladly tell them how much my life has improved. My home # is 770-426-4098.
Yours truly,
Betty Huggins

Dear Dr. Waterstone,
This may be much more than you want, but I wanted to say all this to you. Please feel free to use any or all of this letter in any way you desire. Thank you again for all you have given me.
When I first heard of IDD™ Therapy I was scheduled for an epidural and taking pain medicine around the clock. My medical doctor said this was the only thing I could do to control the intense pain I was in. When I first began taking epidurals they would last about two years. Through the years, they became necessary more and more frequently until this last one was scheduled only six months from the previous one and really I had not been totally without pain the entire time. I have always fought taking pain medicine and only allowed myself this relief when it was absolutely necessary. The radio advertisement sounded too good to be true.
My husband called for a personal conference with Dr. Waterstone. Dr. Waterstone suggested he check the web site for more information. We copied everything we could gather from the internet and took it to our family doctor. He had been very supportive of my efforts to get relief without pain medication or surgery. He did not know of anyone personally that was participating in the IDD™ Therapy treatments but had heard good things. We decided to give it a try.
A typical day for me was to rise at 5:30 and spend at least 30 minutes in the jet tub. This was followed by one hour of stretches and physical therapy just to be able to dress myself and try to prepare for the day. Go to work at 8:00 for five hours and then home to bed, heat pad, jet tub, the works. Pain had increased over the last few months and I could not do the physical therapy anymore. Walking had to be very limited and sitting was almost unbearable. I could only sleep in one position and that for a very short time. Nights were bad. I went to a family gathering that required a nine-hour ride in the car. Even though we stopped every hour and allowed time to stretch and relax, I was unable to get out of bed once I arrived. Not much fun to spend four days at the beach in the bed. Things were really out of control.
April 28 I had my first IDD™ appointment. After an evaluation and physical exam, the doctors felt strongly that I could be helped with this therapy. What did I have to loose? The first week I had four sessions. After the second treatment, I could tell a big difference. After the fourth treatment, we traveled to Savannah for a convention and a very full weekend. I did great! No pain and no need to limit my activity. We rejoiced and could hardly wait to begin treatment again on Monday afternoon. We continued to go each afternoon for 11 treatments.
It has been two weeks today since my last treatment. I have seen a steady improvement in strength and ability to handle activity. I can sleep without propping several pillows around me and in most any position. I am without pain for the first time in years. I admit that I was afraid to trust it to last. I was so thankful to be feeling so good, but afraid to believe it could last. It is so wonderful to be able to say that I have been pain free for four weeks. This weekend I was able to do some housework, work all day Saturday preparing for a high school reunion decorating, etc. and even vacuum our swimming pool without any ill effects. As time goes on, it may be necessary to have a treatment now and again for maintenance, but in the meantime, I have my life back.
Thank you, Dr. Waterstone, for finding this wonderful way to treat lower back problems. It is such a blessing to have my life back and be able to function in a normal way. It is even more wonderful to be able to cancel the epidurals and the pain medication. I will always feel a little in awe when I realize how much you have given me. You and your IDD™ Therapy are truly an answer to my prayers.
P.S.
Dr. Waterstone, just wanted to let you know what a wonderful trip we had last week. We made the same trip to Gulf Shores in April (before the therapy sessions began) and had to stay in bed the entire trip. This time (after therapy) I made the ride great. I used my ice bags while traveling and did not need anything for pain. I was able to do some walking on the beach and enjoy my time with our family. Thanks again for adding so much to my life.
Sincerely,
Mary Grace Meeks

To the staff of A Aachen Back
Thank you very much for treating me for my back pain.
I was skeptical at first whether this IDD treatment would work
but I had reached the point when I was in so much pain
that surgery seemed like it was the way to go and I was actually
looking forward to getting cut on. Instead, I called the
number that I heard on the radio and decided to get started
right away with my treatments. After about 3 sessions I could
tell that it was working. IDD™ therapy really does work.
My pain is so much less and I feel that if I keep doing as
I'm told that I will no longer walk around like an old man
and I can be as active as I once was.
Thanks

A skeptic no more:
I have had a back problem for a few years, usually twice a year since the mid 1990s my back would pop and I would go down for almost a week. The doctors just said it was a muscle strain, but after a new job and an MRI from a Neurologist it was found that I had a ruptured disk. The neurologist recommended an epidural steroid injection, which I did because I needed to get back to work. But when I was released by him to go back to work my human resource department said well he really did not do anything to fix the problem so we cannot allow you to come back until you get another opinion. Which I could see their point because I was still leaning over from my midsection in a tilt to the side of about 30 degrees or so. This did not make me feel good at all because bills were piling up. But on the way back home I saw one of the STOP Back pain signs of DR Bobs and I gave it a call and talked to Terri about the procedure, who then gave me Dr Bobs Cell phone number and I talked to him directly and made an appointment. When I came in he noticed the tilt I had right away and said he could help me. After going to several doctors I was a bit skeptical but everything he said made a lot of sense if it worked. So I got into the program and met Dr Keith who gave me the kind of attention I never had through any other doctor, and also Terri and Janet who handled all of my insurance and information my workplace needed. So I went through all 10 treatments and felt really great at the end. The only thing is my back would build up pressure and Pop with some pain but this was a normal part of everything readjusting to my healed disks Dr Keith said. But in time as he said the pops came less and less and went away. When I was done with my 10 treatments I was asked to send an email about my success, which I hesitated because my back would always get better and then pop out in a few months, so I waited and waited for it to go out again and it has been one year to the day and I have worked on some strenuous projects at work and my back feels better than it did 10 years ago. I would just like to thank everyone at the office for being so kind to me when I was down and for Getting me back to work when my high priced neurologist couldn't.

Dr. Waterstone,
I want to thank you for introducing me to IDD™. I sufferred with pain and burning in my lower back and the pain and burning was so bad at times, I would sit around in tears. It felt like someone stabbing me in my back, the calf of my leg and in my foot. I have a herniated disk pinching on the the sciatic nerve, and the pain just gradually got worse over the past year. I hurt so bad, I didn't feel like getting out of the bed at times. I couldn't ride to Alabama to visit with my family because I wouild be in tears from the pain getting so bad from the ride. I got to the point to where I wouldn't even get out and go anywhere because of my pain being so bad. I love being outdoors, walking, riding bikes, spending time with my kids and now thanks to IDD sessions, I have got my life back! I get outside with the kids, we walk, ride bikes, play ball. I can enjoy life again with my family, and when I go to viset them, I am not in pain and tears now. I tried therapy, they were talking surgery. And thanks to you, and Dr. Quattlebaum, and your staff being so friendly and caring. I would reccommend IDD™ to anyone. It is well worth the time, the ride and the money to do IDD™. I really appreciate the work you have done for me. You made me and my Mom feel like we were family. I really wish there were more Doctors out ther like you and your staff!

To Whom it may Concern:
I Mary Brooks have been taking the IDD treatment through Dr. Bob Waterstone's office. The treatment has helped me a great deal. I learned about this IDD System by watching TV. Early one Saturday morning, I was in sooo much pain, that I heard Dr. Bob say that if you are having pain going down your legs or the lower part of your back, to call in for a Consultation, and that IDD could help me. I called the number and left a message. The Doctor called me back personally within 1/2 hour! So I went in for a Consultation, saw a tape that explained whath the IDD machine could do. They did x-rays & ran tests. His wonderful staff, Nick & Janet put me on the Machine and IT HELPED SOOOO MUCH!!!I haven't taken any pain pills for my back or legs since! Now I am almost pain free. This machine is great! I will recommend it to anyone!
Thank you Dr. Bob!!!

- Widespread Use of Chiropractic Care
- The increasing interest in alternative forms of care has caught the attention of several health associations and government agencies. A 1993 study in the New England Journal of Medicine reported that "The estimated number of visits made in 1990 to providers of unconventional therapy was greater than the number of visits to all primary care medical nationwide," and chiropractic was among the most frequently used non-medical therapies.
A followup report published in the Journal of the American Medical Association in 1998 found that the use of non-medical treatments had increased significantly since the 1990 survey, with "overall prevalence of use increased by 25%, total visits by an estimated 47%, and expenditures on services provided by practitioners of alternative therapies by an estimated 45%." Of the survey respondents, one in nine (11%) had used chiropractic care within the previous year.
- Healthy Tips for a Healthy Spine And What is Sciatica?
- The following tips can help you take better care of your spine:
1) Make sure you have a firm mattress that keeps the spine aligned and supports the spine's natural curve. The best sleeping positions are on your back or side.
2) When standing for extended periods, rest one foot on a small stool to maintain spinal curvature and relieve pressure. The knees should be bent when bending forward. Low-heeled shoes may help by maintaining spinal curvatures and cushioning your weight.
3) Use chairs that promote good posture and support your back. Placing a lumbar support in the lower portion of your back may help support your spine's natural curve. Readjust the seat of your car so that your knees are level with your hips.
4) When bending forward, bend at the knees and hips, but keep your back straight. This will help to keep your spine's curvature in proper alignment. When lifting, keep your spine straight while using your legs to do most of the work. Hold the objects being lifted close to your body to keep the weight on your spine to a minimum.
Is Sciatica a Symptom or a Spinal Disorder?
Sciatica is a general term for pain originating from the sciatic nerve. Sciatica is a symptom of a disorder that causes mild to sharp and sometimes excruciating pain. Patients have described sciatic pain as mildly disturbing to burning, aching, deep, and similar to a sudden bolt of lightning. Sciatic nerve pain travels from the buttock, down the back of the thigh, and into the leg. Leg pain is the classic hallmark of sciatica. Low back pain may accompany sciatica, and some patients experience sciatic pain extending into the foot. Another characteristic of sciatica is it usually affects either the lower left or right side of the body.
Sciatic pain can make life miserable. Walking, standing, bending over, driving a car, working at a computer, catching up on household chores, sneezing or coughing, and many other activities of daily living can cause sudden and intense pain. Patients who suffer sciatica, especially of a more acute nature, find the symptoms disrupt many aspects of their life.
How can one nerve cause so much pain?
One reason the sciatic nerve causes so much pain is because it is the longest nerve in the body! The nerve starts at the back of the pelvis and runs downward through the hip area and buttocks into each leg. Near the knee, the sciatic nerve divides into two nerves—the tibial and peroneal nerves. The tibial nerve runs behind the knee and the peroneal nerve runs along the side of the calf and ankle. Through the tibial and peroneal nerves, the sciatic nerve innervates ('stimulates') the action of many muscles in the lower legs and enables feeling in the thighs, legs, and feet.
Other Symptoms
Besides pain, other symptoms may accompany sciatica. These symptoms include sensations such as tingling, pins and needles, burning, numbness or muscle weakness. Such symptoms may be felt in the buttock, thigh, behind the knee, calf, ankle, and sometimes the foot.
Common Cause of Sciatica
The most common cause of sciatica is a bulging or herniated disc in the low back (lumbar spine). A disc may bulge or rupture due to normal aging and/or events involving spinal wear and tear or poor body mechanics when lifting. When a disc herniates, the gel-like interior (nucleus pulposus) may protrude into or through the disc's tire-like outer ring (annulus fibrosus).
The damaged disc may press on adjacent spinal nerve roots creating nerve compression leading to nerve inflammation and pain. If the nucleus breaks through the annulus (herniates), chemicals are released from the nucleus causing nerve irritation, inflammation, and pain. Other symptoms such as tingling and weakness may affect the leg.

Vertebral subluxations are displacements of the spinal bones (vertebrae) that can cause stress to your spinal cord and nervous system. Subluxations may be caused by poor sleeping habits, poor posture, strenuous exercise, injuries, auto accidents, sports, slips or falls, and in some cases, the birthing process itself.
Chiropractic adjustments are very helpful in correcting subluxations and restoring optimal health.

With an up to 86% success rate, thousands of patients have experienced dramatic pain relief and healing.
WHAT IS IDD THERAPY?
IDD Therapy™ is an innovative approach for the relief of lower back syndromes, including:
Herniated or bulging discs
Degenerative disc disease
Posterior facet syndrome
Sciatica
Acute or chronic back pain
IDD Therapy™ is non-surgical, non-invasive, and typically does not involve pain medications. The treatment is not only safe and painless, but also comfortable and relaxing. The course of therapy includes approximately 10 treatment sessions and is completed in 2 weeks to 2 months. Up to 86% of patients in our Clinic have had a permanent resolution to not only their pain, but their problem!!!
For those patients with severe longstanding problems a follow up maintence program over the next 1-2 years of 5-10 treatments may be advised.
Each procedure is performed with a patented intervertebral decompression device and is performed by a certified clinician, specializing in back pain care. The treatment sessions are brief, lasting approximately 30 minutes.
How does IDD Therapy™ work?
IDD Therapy™ can isolate each lumbar vertebrae (L1, L2, L3, L4 or L5) and distract the vertebrae surrounding an injured disc 5 to 7 millimeters. The 20 to 30 minute treatment provides static, intermittent, and cycling forces on structures that may be causing low back pain.
During treatment, intradiscal pressure is dropped from approximately a positive 25 millimeters mercury to a negative 150 millimeters mercury. This negative pressure promotes the diffusion of water, oxygen, and nutrients into the vertebral disc area, thereby re-hydrating the degenerated disc. Repeated decompression promotes retraction of a herniated nucleus pulposus (the elastic core of the intervertebral disc).
The IDD Therapy™ treatment can
reduce pressure on the vertebral joints,
promote retraction of herniated discs,
promote self healing and rehabilitation of damaged discs,
thereby relieving low back pain.
Several sessions are required to achieve optimal results.
Why should you consider IDD Therapy™?
IDD Therapy™ is credible. It is the only treatment that was developed by a team of back specialists including Chiropractors, neurosurgeons, orthopedists, physiatrists, osteopaths, neurologists, and physical therapists.
IDD Therapy™ is proven and effective. The procedure has been studied extensively over the past six years and has been clinically validated. Thousands of patients have been successfully treated with IDD Therapy™.
IDD Therapy™ is non-surgical and non-invasive. The complications from surgery can be severe and may result in debilitating conditions. IDD Therapy™ is painless and involves no recovery time.
IDD Therapy™ is convenient. Treatment sessions last only 20 to 30 minutes. And because the procedure is non-invasive, most IDD Therapy™ patients can carry-on with normal daily activities. Additionally, patients can expect only minimal absence from work.
IDD Therapy™ is cost-effective. The cost of treatment is minimal compared to the cost of surgery. And, in most cases, financing is available for those without insurance or with less than comprehensive insurance. Several payment options are available and a monthly payment plan can be a much better financial decision than a 10% or 20% insurance co-payment on back surgery.

- A Brief History Of Chiropractic
The first recorded chiropractic adjustment was performed on September 18, 1895, by Dr. Daniel David Palmer, a Canadian-born teacher and helter. Dr. Palmer was, at the time, studying the cause and effect of disease. His patient was Harvey Lillard, a janitor working in the same building as Dr. Palmer in Davenport, Iowa. Mr. Lillard, who had complained of hearing problems for over 17 years, allowed Dr. Palmer to examine his spine. Dr. Palmer discovered a "lump" on Mr. Lillard's back and suspected that a vertebra might be out of place, which he then repositioned the vertebra with a gentle thrust. After several such treatments, much of Mr. Lillard's hearing was restored.
Since Dr. Palmer's first chiropractic adjustment, the art and science of chiropractic has progressed significantly. Today, advanced diagnostic procedures, sophisticated equipment, scientific research, and the growing acceptance among other health care professionals makes chiropractic a popular health care choice.
- Chiropractic Philosophy
- The chiropractic perspective on health and disease emphasizes two fundamental concepts:
1) the structure and condition of the body influences how the body functions and its ability to heal itself;
and
2) the mind-body relationship is instrumental in maintaining health and in the healing processes.
Although chiropractic shares much with other health professions, its emphasis and application of philosophy distinguishes it from modern medicine. Chiropractic philosophy gravitates toward a holistic ("total person") approach to healing which combines elements of the mind, body and spirit and maintains that health depends on obedience to natural laws, and that deviation from such laws can result in illness.

Dr. Bobs’ personal story!!
Let me tell you a little bit about the philosophy, the treatment, my personal story, and the financial. And then if you like we will schedule you for a reduced fee consultation and history. My name is Dr. Bob Waterstone, and I am the owner of A Aachen Back and IDD™ Internal Disc Decompression therapy.
I’ve been a practicing Board Eligible Chiropractic Orthopedist. A Kinesiologist, Nutritionist, and studied Acupunture in China 15 years ago. I have been in the same location for over 21 years. Married to Carol, and have 2 wonderful children Josh & Andrea both at the Univeristy of Ga.
I became a DC because Chiropractic helped me when nothing else could, until even that did not help me. And then I discovered IDD™!
I have suffered for over forty years with severe neck and low back disc degeneration, herniated disc, and sciatica. I have been to orthopedists, neurologist, internist, medical doctors, Chiropractors, & massage therapists. But I always treated all of my doctors the same, like a pain pill. In other words "Doc", I have a pain, I would like something for the pain. Whether it's a shot of cortisone, muscle relaxers, pain pill, chiropractic adjustments, physical therapy, massage, shot of steroid, shot of whiskey! And when the pain goes away, or lessens, I must be healthy, I want a divorce.
And we treat ourselves like that don't we? When we are young we think we are indestructible! But every year that goes by, we keep going through the aging & degeneration process, and the little things can become the straw that breaks the camels back! Sometimes rolling over in bed, picking up a shoelace, coughing or sneezing! And every year that goes by we keep losing the water content in our body and skin and disc. That is why we get wrinkles. That is why our parents grew shorter when they grew older, and our grandparents grew shorter. The disks, which are the shock absorbers between the bones start to dry out and small cracks may form that allow the middle of the disk, called the nuclease to seep out through the cracks. That is called bulging disc, slipped disk, degenerative disc, herniated disc, and ruptured disk. And you don't necessarily have to have any pain, because only 10 percent of the nerves are the pain nerves (sensorial). The other 90 percent are function nerves (autonomic). There are a multitude of people walking around with DJD disc degeneration, slipped disc, bulging disc, herniated discs, that have no pain or symptoms, until the time that they do something innoculous, like picking up a feather, and then.."I've fallen, and I can't get up" That's what happened to me!
26 years ago I herniated a disc playing racquetball picking up the ball, and a wonderful Doctor of Chiropractic got me walking again without surgery. I then decided to make that my profession, as the medical field did not have a permanent answer to me, except surgery, epidurals, or pain pills.
But the disc degeneration kept going on.
Well fifteen years ago I was simply bending over and I re-herniated the disc in my low back and could not walk. I had sciatica going down both legs to the heels. Nothing was helping me. Not even my own profession!
That is when I discovered decompression therapy. I went to a clinic and paid cash for a series of treatments that helped me get well without surgery. I was so impressed, that I bought an early form of decompression called VAX-D. And was actually trained by the inventor of Decompression Therapy! He was an MD instrumental in the invention of the Cardiac defibrillator.
And then I had a life-changing event happen over 2 years ago! I was involved in a major auto accident, almost killed, and suffered four herniated discs. I could not walk, and they had to install an elevator chair in my home to get me up and down the stairs. That’s when I discovered IDD™ therapy. “Internal Disc Decompression” It is the state of the art, non-invasive, next generation, computer controlled answer to many patients suffering from disc degeneration, herniated disc, slipped disc, sciatica, hip and back pain without surgery. I became relatively pain-free again, without surgery, and I bought this wonderful therapy, and put it in my clinic to help other patients. And it has been nothing short of miraculous!!!!
This procedure has an incredible success rate nationwide. Not only getting to the pain, but resolving the problem too. The way it works is that when you are standing you have around 200 mm Hg pressure pressure on the disk. When you are sitting you have around 150 mm Hg of pressure on the disk. When you are lying down, you have around 100 mm Hg pressure on the disk. With a good chiropractic adjustment, traction in or out of the hospital, with the best inversion therapy hanging upside-down, the best you can do is to reduce the disk pressure to about 25 mm Hg pressure, which may relieve some symptoms temporarily.
This wonderful therapy, which is the state of the art protocol, reduces the disk pressure to a minus 150 mm Hg pressure over ten - fifteen treatments ranging from two-three weeks to three months. This negative pressure helps re-imbibe the disc, like a flattened marshmellow becoming more whole again, allowing blood, water, nutrients, oxygen back into the disk, rehydrating the disk, and in many cases allowing the protruding portions of the nucleus, the middle of the disk to be reabsorbed back towards the middle. And in up to 86 percent of patients nationwide, they get a permanent resolution to not only their pain, but also their problem. Post MRIs have actually showed an increase in disc height in many patients, in not only the bad discs but the good ones also!!
And it is our goal to be able to provide this treatment regardless of financial ability to pay. So we do some special things in our office for patients. We use a budget system that allows a person to have the complete workup including x-rays and exams, treatments, and follow-ups over the next one to two years, and make payments as little as $60- $90-$150 a month, so you can afford to have the care. With our budget system, and you may pay it off at any time with no prepayment penalty. As long as you have fair to good credit, you will be approved for our budget system. And we also have bookeeping cash discounts.
If you have insurance? My staff will be glad to get some information from you, so that when you come in for your consultation, we will let you know what your reimbursement should be. But if insurance does not pay, or you do not have insurance, we will still accept you from our budget system so you can afford this wonderful procedure. No credit, but still have insurance or no insurance? Call me personally for a free telephone consultation. I speak with all new patients to try to help you.
The in office consultation is normally $150, and I need a good hour with you, but there will be a reduced charge for you for the consultation if you have been referred in by a patient or our advertisement or have talked with me. At that time we. will take a through history and consultation. You will see the therapy unit, watch a video that will teach you exactly how the procedure works, and then after your consultation, if we feel that you are a candidate, & you would like to have the procedure you'll have your exam and weight bearing films taken. Then as long as there is no pathology, in other words no tumors, fractures, or cancers, ect. then we may possibly start you on the same day to get you on the road to health. And many patients feel a dramatic quality of life change and relief immediately after their first few treatments.
Our consultation times are limited, as we have been inundated with calls. Your initial visit will take approximately 1 1/2 to two 1/2 hours. Depending on if we give you your first session that day.
Subsequent visits will be approximately 30-45 minutes each.
Call me personally for more information at my home (770)425-2105, or my cell (678)923-9593 or at my office (770)424-7777.
